Funny Valentine by Lizzy House is a nostalgic and sweet look through a candy box full of vintage valentines and love notes. It’s a peek into your grandmother’s hatbox of handkerchiefs and treasured ephemera tucked away to remember tender memories and first loves. The prints in Funny Valentine feature a delightful assortment of charming illustration, from the most unlikely of friends and botanical sweethearts to lovely stamp collection, friendly strawberries and more. I can’t tell you how much I love this collection. I have collected vintage handkerchiefs since I was a kid and I loved being able to honor some of my favorite handkerchief artists and create my own to fit right in with them. Maybe I could have been one of the greats.

The collection features 28 prints in a candy assortment of colors, and a hankie panel. Also available are a set of actual finished handkerchiefs. A true dream come true. And pending wildly rising tariffs, a fun assortment of new zipper pulls.

As a note, this is incredibly beautiful fabric. It’s hard to see in pictures JUST HOW vibrant it really is. I received it just last week and have been furiously sewing since. It’s objectively an absolute delight to use. You might be tempted to think that the blue and cocoa colors are out of place, and I want to assure you, they cut through the sweetness with such a beautiful and fun contrast.

As always, I can’t wait to see what you do with it. And PLEASE, for the love of all that is holy, ask your local shop to carry it. If I’m going to keep designing in this way, it’s going to have to be a grassroots effort.

I actually can’t pick a favorite print right now, but I will say that the new tiny heart blenders is kind of perfect. The whole thing is a treat.
