Hi Lizzy! Boy, I so agree with you about what our priorities in life should be and how hard it can be to live our lives with those priorities actually taking center stage! As to your upcoming fabric lines, all I can offer is that I love color and you always offer beautiful color options (so no help there from me) and I LOVE to fussy cut (my quits are generally TOTALLY fussy cut) so any fabric with fussy cutting options makes me happy! I’ve noticed on Instagram that fussy cutting is becoming increasingly popular so I imagine there are many more quilters out there who would love fabric to fussy cut too. I can’t wait to get your (new) first line of fabric and I’m excited to see what you have in the works…
Turtles--I personally have a fondness for desert tortoises, but an ocean theme with sea turtles and coral, starfish, anemones like an underwater garden sounds nice.
I’m really loving using gingham lately and would love to see it with a Lizzy spin! And we desperately need more dark purples and greens in the fabric world
I'm one of the students from your recent trip to BYU-Idaho. This last post was so real and I'm in the same boat. I've kinda lost the plot a bit. College is supposed to be fun, right? But I'm also trying to figure out my future after college. I like how you said you're "clearing the path." I recently listened to a podcast about how to finish projects strong (Creative Pep Talk by Andy J. Pizza, Episode 458) and one of the tips was altering the creative process to make your life easier. Very good stuff. I wish us both the best of luck!
As for fabric pattern ideas, I love florals and I'm really into the pink and green combo right now.
Even retired with way fewer irons in the fire I am always, always behind! But I always make time to read notes from my favorite people and fondle fabric.
I would love to see new designs but I have to say that Constellations is my all time favorite fabric line of yours. I also love the tapestry Lovely Hunt print. Anything whimsical, small scale, and kid friendly are my favorite types of fabrics to use.
It's so nice to feel your presence again! I love the way you write and ponder things, and of course I love your art no matter what medium. I admire that you are trying to strike a balance between being an artist, printer, fabric designer, Mom, wife, sister, daughter and all the other things that might be pulling you in different directions. I always think of a push-me pull-you (Dr. Doolittle animal) in my head when trying to do all the adulting and keep things going - its a genuine struggle sometimes.
I'm writing from a bench in the penguin house at Sea World San Antonio, so today I'm seeing fabric with penguins, otters, polar bears, and sea lions. Keep loving the new process but keep the first things first too. There's a middle ground in there somewhere...

I second this, I'm a huge fan of sea turtles!
